Faculty of Public Health Annual Conference: The Next Decade: What is the Future of Public Health?

This year the influential FPH annual conference is taking place for the first time in London at Imperial College with a new and exciting format.  There will be keynote speeches from the leaders in public health, break-out sessions, discussions and plenty of debate as the audience contemplates public health policy and practise under a new government.  This will be the biggest annual conference of public health leaders in the UK, and will be held in a central London location for the first time.  Further details can be obtained from the conference website at www.fphconference.org

RCPSG & SIGN Guideline e-CPD ProjectRCPSG are delighted to have secured funding from The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AOMRC) to support the development of two SIGN Guidelines for a online self-assessment CPD tool which can be used for revalidation purposes.

The guidelines which are being developed for this project are:
SIGN Guideline 95 - Management of Chronic Heart Failure;
SIGN Guideline 98 - Assessment, diagnosis and clinical interventions for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders.

Once the system is live, clinicians will be able to test their knowledge of the guideline using a scenario based online assessment tool. As CPD will play an important role in the revalidation process, this system will be a valuable tool supporting clinician's learning and development.

We hope to launch the system in Spring 2010. For futher information, please contact Lynsey McNaught, Project Manager (t) +44 (0)141 227 3249 or (e) lynsey.mcnaught@rcpsg.ac.uk
