The role of Dental Council is to deal with all dental matters in the College, reporting directly to College Council.

Dental Education and Professional Development Board

There are several regular events under the direction of the Dental Education Board: These comprise an annual symposium, held in March, jointly with the FGDP(UK); MFDS Part 1 and 2 Revision Courses, held in March/April; the TC White Symposium, held in May, and an autumn symposium, held jointly with the RCS Edinburgh, the venue of which alternates between Glasgow and Edinburgh. When RCS Edinburgh organises the autumn symposium, RCSPG hosts a Primary Care Symposium in October/November.
A symposium is also held on the afternoon of the annual meetings of Fellows and Members in October/November.
There are two guest lectures: a Spring Lecture in March/April and the TC White Invitation Lecture in the autumn. The TC White Lecture Award takes place each year by arrangement with the successful applicant, at a mutually convenient date and venue.
In addition to these regular activities, ad hoc meetings are often arranged. These may comprise lectures, supper colloquia, seminars or symposia.
Dental Examination Board
The Board comprises a Director and eight members, currently:

For reviewing T C White applications, this Committee meets formally once per annum (normally in June) to consider applications for awards.
The T C White Bequest Fund supports a wide range of educational and research activity. This Committee is also responsible for the JC McDougall Travelling Fellowship which is awarded annually, and for management of the undergraduate dental elective award scheme.
