Liver Teaching in the West of Scotland

Update Course for Optometrists

This annual event, in conjunction with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, is aimed at qualified optometrists. A wide range of ophthalmic conditions seen in optometry practice is discussed along with appropriate investigations and current management. Topics this year will include Matters Oculopastic, Retinopathy of Prematurity, The Challenge of Restructuring Out of Hours Eyecare, OCT for Age Related Macular Degeneration, and Stem Cells in Posterior Segment Disease.

Spring Ophthalmology Symposium

The College's Annual Spring Ophthalmology Symposium this year is taking place on Wednesday 18th April.  With a carefully structured programme starting at a later time of 1.30pm and an nominal fee of only £15.

As the programme shows we have endeavoured to provide a different perspective to our day to day practice of Ophthalmology.  We have been fortunate in attracting speakers, outstanding in their field, who will share their experiences and understanding with us on a variety of subjects.  Is Glaucoma Screening cost effective?  Do we know the best way to organise Ophthalmic A&E Service?  The value of early diagnosis of diabetes eye disease through an efficient screening programme, Experience with implantable Intraocular Telescopes, Provision of eye care in remote areas using smart phones.  In addition the Finlayson Lecture will be delivered by Dr Nick Astbury, Past President RCPhth.

6th Annual Symposium on Podiatric Medicine- The role of the Podiatrist in current practice
