Autumn Symposium 2010 'Evidence-based Travel Medicine'

The Symposium of the Faculty of Travel Medicine will examine key issues in this newly emergent specialty. This year the focus will be on the evidence base which underpins the advice given to protect the health of travellers. The programme will be of interest to all those who practise or have an interest in Travel Medicine.

Topics to be covered are:

Evidence based travel medicine - current issues and future challenges;
Assessing yellow fever risk;
DVT prevention in travellers;
Chemoprophylaxis for travel altitude;
Advising on antimalarial prophylaxis - the evidence;
Vaccination against meningitis in travellers;
Insect repellents go head to head
