Trainees are one of the most active membership groups in the College. Much of their collective activity is driven through the College’s Trainee Committee. Meeting 4 times per year the committee’s main purpose is:
· To fully and accurately reflect the opinions of members of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in the training grades to all interested parties
· To consider the position of and represent junior doctors and dentists with particular reference to issues relating to training
· To identify opportunities to raise the profile of doctors and dentists in the training grades throughout College activities and in the public domain
· To strengthen links between trainees and the College, the other Medical and Surgical Royal Colleges and those other bodies involved in the training of junior doctors and dentists
· To help influence and generate ideas for colloquia and symposia
· To advise on the use of endowments and research funds for educational purposes
College is eager for Trainees to maximise their potential and therefore offers the following benefits.
1. Membership rates for College Eductional meetings
2. Access to College facilities – library and online resources
3. Subscription to the Scottish Medical Journal
