Specialty Fellowship Examination Boards
The College acts as the Secretariat of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations Boards in Dental Specialties and is responsible for the professional conduct of the examinations on behalf of the Faculties of Dental Surgery of the:
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow
Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
Royal College of Surgeons of England
Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
The Boards comprise six specialties: oral medicine, oral surgery, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, dental public health and restorative dentistry. A Board for special care dentistry is being established.
Diploma of Fellowship
Award of the Diploma of Fellowship in a specific specialty indicates that a candidate has attained the knowledge and experience, as well as satisfied the necessary training programme requirements, to proceed to independent practice as a consultant within their specialty.
Successful candidates affiliate to one of the partner Colleges once they have met all requirements: information on affiliation is available from each of the partner Colleges.
