Tri-collegiate examinations
The College’s Dental Faculty is collaborating with the Dental Faculties of the Colleges in Edinburgh and England in the running of tri-collegiate specialty membership examinations. These comprise Membership examinations in:
- Oral Surgery
- Paediatric Dentistry
- Special Care Dentistry
Each examination will be administered by one of the Colleges, on behalf of all three.
The Membership in Oral Surgery examination is open for applications and is administered by the Royal College of Surgeons of England: all applications should be sent directly to them. Information can be accessed from that College's website: http://www.rcseng.ac.uk/exams
Information on the tri-collegiate Paediatric Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry examinations will be published on College websites as soon as it is available.
Bi-collegiate examinations
The College’s Dental Faculty holds the following bi-collegiate specialty Membership examinations jointly with the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England:
- Orthodontics
- Paediatric Dentistry (last diet being held in May 2012)
- Restorative Dentistry
- Surgical Dentistry (last diet being held in March 2012)

Those wishing to become a Member of the Dental Faculty of our College will be invited to do so on successful completion of either a bi-collegiate or tri-collegiate examination. Please indicate that you wish to join our College on the examination application form.
