Name of creator(s): Grist, Professor Norman Roy
Administrative/Biographical History
Professor Norman Roy Grist was educated at Shawlands Academy, Glasgow and the University of Glasgow graduating BSc in 1939 and MB, ChB, 1942. He held the position of House Physician at Gartloch Hospital from 1942-1943 before joining the RAMC. Following the Second World War he held positions at the Victoria Infirmary, Glasgow and Ruchill Hospital, Glasgow, becoming a Lecturer at Glasgow University in 1952. He became a Reader in Viral Epidemiology in 1962 and was appointed Professor of Infectious Diseases in 1965. He retired in 1983.
