- The College offers a range of competitive educational awards to help you further your training and career.
Eligibility
All awards are granted in accordance with RCPSG financial governing practices and are given retrospectively. Occasionally, funds may be given prospectively under certain conditions. Unless otherwise indicated, the closing date for Awards is 30th of April each year. The College's Dental Faculty Membership Board grants the Awards in June. Please note, where presentations and publications are fully or partially a result of this award, acknowledgement should be given to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Eligibility is based on the following criteria:

- Dentists must have completed their Part One of MFDS prior to applying
- Health Care Professionals must be or have applied for Associate Membership to RCPSG
- Applicants from outwith the EU and wishing to enter the UK must first demonstrate compliance with National Immigration Laws (if and where appropriate). For further details please click here

- TC White Young Researcher Grant
- Available to: College Members at an early stage in their career, and at postgraduate level, interested in develoing general research skills. A broad range of dental research areas will be considered.

Value: Awarded primarily as a start up fund, a maximum of £10,000 is given annually

- TC White Travel Grant
- Available to: Individuals with no alternative means of support who wish to broaden their horizons by gaining clinical and/or research experience outside the UK. The Grant offers assistance with travel and accommodation for activities such as presenting a lecture, learning new techniques and attending/participating in a conference or symposium.
- Value: A maximum of three grants worth up to £2,000 each are awarded annually

- TC White Lecture Award
- Available to: Individuals at an early stage (less than 12 years experience) of their career and looking to present their research to a wider audience. Lecture topics include all areas of dentistry.
- Value: £1,000 plus invitation to present the lecture either at the College or at a professional meeting within the United Kingdom

- TC White Observership Award
- Available to: Non-UK residents wishing to gain experience at a Centre of Excellence within the United Kingdom. Recipients will have the opportunity to gain a two-week period of clinical observation at a Centre of choice. Recipients are required to submit a brief report of their experience within two months of completion of the observership.
- Value: A maximum of two awards worth up to £2,000 each are awarded annually. Funds are intended to support travel and/or accommodation costs.

- TC White Study Grant: MSc in Clinical Leadership
- Available to: Successful candidates from within dentistry undertaking the MSc in Clinical Leadership. This two-year part-time MSc course is open to healthcare professionals wishing to develop and enhance their leadership skills.
- Value: £2,500 awarded to one successful candidate each academic year. The Award is intended to support the cost of tuition fees.

- JC MacDougall Travelling Fellowship
- Available to: RCPSG Dental Fellows and Members wishing to further their education and experience in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine or Oral Pathology by visits to centres abroad or in the United Kingdom. The JC MacDougall Fellow will normally commence the visit within eighteen months of notification of the award. In addition, a written report on the visit must be submitted to Dental Council within two months of its completion.
- Value: Maximum value of £1,750 (one awarded per year). The Fellowship is intended to cover travel and subsistence costs only.

- Rod Cawson Prize Lecture
- Available to: Any person involved in the practice of oral pathology is eligible to apply.
- Value: £1,000

- Aileen Lynn Bequest Fund
- Available to: Fellows & Members, Fellows in Dental Surgery or Members of Faculty of Dental Surgery of the College involved in Cancer Research
- Value: £5,000 small equipment grant
