Fellowship of RCPSG is more than a passing of examination. It is a demonstration of commitment to the College and an acknowledgement of individual contribution to the medical profession, its standards and practice.
Fellowship of the College is offered to physicians, surgeons, dental surgeons and those members of the Faculty of Travel Medicine who, in the opinion of College, have made substantial special contributions to their specialty or who are a senior member of the medical profession whose published works and attainments are, in the opinion of the Council, of such distinction as to justify election.

Fellowship qua Physician (standard)
Any physician who holds the MRCP(UK) Diploma or is a current Member of the College - MRCPS(Glasg), and is of a consultant or equivalent level, is eligible for election as a standard admission. (For non standard admission see below).
Once admitted Fellows are entitled to use the designation letters FRCP(Glasg).
How to Apply: To be proposed, please submit the following fellowship application form along with a brief CV and the name of one sponsor. Your sponsor should be a Fellow of the College, who is in good standing. S/he should provide a brief statement in support of your application.
Fellowship qua Surgeon (standard)
Any surgeon who holds MRCS(Glasg) and who is successful in the appropriate Intercollegiate Specialty examination: Cardiothoracic, General Surgery,Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopaedic, Otolaryngology, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Neurology and Urology can be proposed.
Those entitled to apply will be sent appropriate admission documents upon success. Once admitted Fellows are entitled to use the designation letters FRCSGlasg(suffix).
Non Standard Admission (Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists)
Any senior member of the medical or dental professions, whose published work and attainments are, in the opinion of the Council, of such distinction as to justify election can be nominated. All nominations are scrutinised and recommended by the Fellowship Committee. Council may elect candidates to the Fellowship.
Once admitted Fellows are entitled to use the designation letters FRCP(Glasg), FRCS(Glasg) or FDS RCPS(Glasg).
How to Apply: To be proposed, please submit the following fellowship application form along with a brief CV and the name of two sponsors. Your sponsors should be Fellows of the College who are in good standing. Signatures of both sponsors are required, one of whom should provide a statement in support of your application.
