Health Protection Scotland (HPS) was established by the Scottish Executive to strengthen and co-ordinate health protection in Scotland.

Fit for Travel
This website is a public access website provided by the NHS (Scotland).  It gives travel health information for people travelling abroad from the UK.

The International Society of Travel Medicine
The International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) is committed to the promotion of healthy and safe travel. ISTM advocates and facilitates education, service, and research activities in the field of travel medicine.

CDC travelers' health
A collection of official information on travel health from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services). The full-text of many documents are available here, including publications providing recommendations to travellers by country/region and by disease, and also vaccine recommendations and news about disease outbreaks.  

National Travel Health Network and Centre
The National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) has been created to promote clinical standards in travel medicine with the goal of 'protecting the health of the British traveller'.

TRAVAX
TRAVAX is an interactive online database providing up to the minute travel health information for health care professionals. TRAVAX is maintained and continually updated by the Travel Health Division of Health Protection Scotland (HPS). It is provided as a NHS resource for health care professionals who advise patients about avoiding illness when travelling abroad.

World Health Organization
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
